Drop-in Sessions (Academic and Immigration Advising)

Each week, ISS hosts drop-in sessions for Academic Advising and Immigration Advising. Each of these sessions can be joined in-person at ISS (8th floor Rice Centre, 491 Portage Ave). Please note that these sessions are for short (10-minute) questions.

 

Academic Advising Drop-ins (March 10-28)

Mondays: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Wednesdays: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Fridays: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

 

Immigration Advising Drop-ins (March 10-28)

Mondays: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Wednesdays: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

NOTE: There will be no drop-in sessions on Statutory holidays.


International Cultural Day (Pre-registration required)

Come celebrate the rich diversity from cultures around the world! Enjoy traditional music, food, dance and more. 

Seats are limited this year, so attendance is strictly open to University of 寻花论坛 students only. To secure your spot, a $20 cash deposit is required at the International Student Services office (8th floor, 491 Portage Ave). Your deposit will be refunded the next day if you attend the event. No-shows will forfeit the deposit.

INTERCULTURAL LITERARY EVENT - IN THE UW LIBRARY (Hosted by Michael Dudley)

Do you have a favourite short story, poem, dramatic scene/monologue, essay, or other reading from your home country, cultural tradition, or language that you'd love to share with your classmates and the campus community? Here's your chance! To help celebrate the UW's International Student Services' fall 'Cultural Day', the University of 寻花论坛 Library is hosting an Intercultural Literature event, featuring student readings in the UW Library.

To sign up for 5-10 minute slot at the microphone to share your reading--or for more information or to ask any questions--please contact Michael Dudley at m.dudley@uwinnipeg.ca, or (204) 982-1145.

When: October 28th, 12:00 pm -1:00 pm

Where: UW Library, 5th floor, Room 2 (Atrium)


Pumpkin Carving (Pre-registration required)

Come join us for pumpkin carving! Pumpkins and carving tools will be provided, but please register in advance to reserve your pumpkin by emailing iss@uwinnipeg.ca (this is free).

When: October 30th, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm (drop by anytime)

Where: ISS lounge (491 Portage Ave, 8th floor).
